Writing the Artist Statement & Biography

This series of two three-hour workshops focuses on learning and applying tried-and-true methods for creating an artist's statement and biography.

Intended for both new and experienced artists and makers alike, this hands-on workshop covers the fundamentals of writing effectively about yourself and the art or craft that stems from your practice. Emphasis is placed on making the process of writing simple, practical, and methodical. Main subject areas include format, structure, length, narrative style, target audience, content, and editing.

Participants should expect to complete an outline draft of their statement and bio during the workshop.
